Rev. Jeremy Squires, Lead Pastor
Reverend Squires was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and grew up the son of a Navy nurse in Philadelphia and Portsmouth Va. At the age of nine, the Squires family left the Navy and settled down in Murfreesboro, TN. Squires graduated from Riverdale High School in 1987. And earned his college degree, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Middle Tennessee State University in 1995. During his time at MTSU, he joined the Wesley Foundation and received Jesus Christ into his life. Then feeling the call to the ministry, he attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University and graduated in 1999 with a Masters of Divinity. While attending seminary he was a student pastor at Statham UMC just outside of Athens, GA.
Upon returning to Tennessee after graduation, Squires was first appointed to St. Paul United Methodist Church in Manchester. Squires has also served Brentwood United Methodist Church as Pastor of Inviting Ministries under Senior Pastor Dr. Howard Olds for 6 1/2 years. He also has served as Associate Pastor at Bethlehem United Methodist in Franklin TN and most recently, as Pastor of Pleasant View United Methodist in Pleasant View TN since 2009.
Squires has served on the conference level as the Chair of the Board of Higher Education, Chair of the Stewardship Committee, Board of Ordained Ministry member, and Co- Chair of the District Committee of Ordained Ministry in the Columbia, Clarksville and now serving in the Cumberland District.
The Squires family includes Pastor Jeremy, his wife Susan and his daughter Hannah who is 10 years old. His interests include movies, history, computers, super heroes and science fiction, especially Star Trek. Pastor Jeremy also loves anything to do with Advent, Christmas and Epiphany. The Squires reside in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
